Thames Transformation Partners is a global management consultancy firm. Its primary objective is to identify opportunities and implement shared services solutions by unleashing the overall performance of the business and optimising operational excellence.

Thames Transformation Partners believes the next step in their evolution would shift their focus to the core business offerings and not just be limited to driving cost savings. Their main focus is to perform well in business-critical processes that make a significant contribution towards the value offered by the organisation.

Programme Management

There are five major aspects of Programme Management:

  1. Governance: Defining roles and responsibilities, and providing oversight.
  2. Management: Planning and administering projects and the overall programme.
  3. Financial management: Implementation of specific fiscal practices and controls.
  4. Infrastructure: The programme office, technology, and other factors in the work environment supporting the programme effort.
  5. Planing: Activities that take place at multiple levels, with different goals. The program plan is not a traditional plan.

Thames Transformation Partners bring decades of Programme Management expertise. In addition to the adoption of standard methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, PMI and ITIL we have developed our own suite of tools and methodologies that are both flexible and scalable to meet the requirements of your organisation.

Quality Assurance

Thames Transformation Partners offer two distinct aspects of Quality Assurance:

  1. Where Thames Transformation Partners is the lead consulting firm our Assignment Partner will ensure that the output from our consultants is of the highest quality, ensure all program deliverables are on track and that the budget and business case are adhered to.
  2. Where Thames Transformation Partners is not the lead consultant our practitioners perform an intermediary Quality Assurance role between the third party contracting firm and the client.

This role is akin to that of a ‘super’ Project Manager and involves:

  • Tracking to Deliverables
  • Acting as interface with key stakeholders
  • Monitoring the budget
  • Participating in the Steering Committee
  • Risk / Issue analysis with appropriate mitigations

Whilst making use of our standard tools and methodologies it should be noted that both our Programme Management and Quality Assurance offerings are scalable and adaptable to all industries and sectors.

Process Improvement

Business processes are individual sequences of related activities or tasks that produce specific products, services or outcomes for internal and / or external customers.

All business areas use repeatable processes and an entire organisation is made up of multiple interconnected activities and tasks. Examples include the production of month-end financial accounts, the following up of a lead by the sales team, a clerical data entry activity or a manufacturing process. The reality is that the performance of an organisation and how effectively it meets the needs of its customers is only as good as its processes.

Over time as organisations evolve processes become sub-optimal and inefficient. This results in increased cycle time (the time taken to complete the end-to-end process) increased quality defects and unnecessary cost.

Thames Transformation Partners is skilled in the systematic approach of Business Process Improvement (BPI) to understand the key processes of the organisation and to ensure that they are aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals. Thames Transformation Partners identify and target key high-impact processes to optimise and simplify that will achieve more efficient results for the organisation and eliminate valueless complexity and waste.

The successful implementation of Business Process Improvement programmes is key and the Thames Transformation Change Management and Programme Management teams play an important part. In addition there are specific tools and disciplines needed to effectively re-engineer processes. Thames Transformation Partners use a selection of tools including Lean Six Sigma which is a combination of two distinct but complimentary methodologies that together are used by many businesses as a strategic enabler to:

  • Meet customer expectations for higher quality
  • Provide a competitive differentiator in the market
  • Drive other key goals such as productivity and growth

Lean is a philosophy of continual improvement and a relentless pursuit to eliminate waste and waste’s drivers. It involves imbedding the “Voice of the Customer” into the organisation and ensuring that the processes are fully aligned with the Customer’s needs. Lean also involves identifying the Value Stream and keeping the process flow moving continuously.

Six Sigma is a disciplined philosophy to continually eliminate variation with an emphasis on managing quality and utilising a powerful set of analytical tools. The term Six Sigma equates to 3.4 defects per million or 99.99966% good.

Change Management

Strong Change Management is a necessary component for any organisational re-design project to succeed. Change Management is about enabling the smooth transition of the organisation and its employees to the ‘new state’. Effective Change Management should facilitate the reduction and management of any resistance to the change thus enabling the organisation to realise its potential.

Ultimately, it’s about managing change in the context that:

  • People react differently to change
  • Everyone has fundamental needs that have to be met
  • Change often involves a loss, and people go through the “loss curve”
  • Expectations need to be managed realistically
  • Fears have to be dealt with

Thames Transformation Partners believe that Change Management is most effective when embedded within a programme and least effective when it is stand-alone or “bolt-on.” Too many organisations allow for significant segregation between programme management’s executional focus and the activities of a change team. Our team ensures that change is effectively managed during transformation.

Whether you are adjusting to incremental, ongoing change or embarking on a new direction that will transform your organisation, we help facilitate the process—developing communications and engagement strategies, mapping processes and creating strategic plans. Always, we make sure the people side of change is integrated into your activities to build buy-in and accelerate progress. When the situation is complex or you have a diversity of stakeholders, our collaborative Change Management practice has the sophistication and depth to help you achieve successful outcomes.
